State Election Dates and Deadlines - Don't Miss Out!

As we march toward the middle of October, there are precious few days left until Election Day – November 4. Stay informed about your state’s election dates and deadlines right here with U.S. Vote Foundation’s comprehensive state list.

For both U.S.-based domestic voters as well as overseas or military voters, our list provides state-by-state election dates, voter registration dates, absentee ballot request dates, absentee ballot return dates, and early in-person voting dates where applicable.

In terms of voter registration, the deadline has come and gone in a number of states. However, if you live in one of these states or territories, you still have time to register: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Guam, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota (voter registration is waived) Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Once the voter registration period ends, you will still have time to request an absentee ballot. Our handy list includes the absentee ballot request and return dates for each state. The dates differ depending on whether you are a U.S.-based domestic voter or an overseas or military voter, so be sure to check the right list to schedule your dates accordingly.

Residents of these states are in luck, as their states offer early in-person voting: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Oregon, Washington, and Colorado have all-mail voting, and our State Voter Information Directory has you covered as well.

You are also invited to get local election contact information, key votes from your representatives, and more using the My Voter Account app. You can create a My Voter Account at the same time as you register to vote or request an absentee ballot. If you do not have an account yet, take a moment and create one here. If you have an account from our Overseas Vote Foundation site, that is also valid on the U.S. Vote Foundation site!

While you’re on our site, help us reach more voters like you by liking our Facebook page and sharing this helpful info with a friend or loved one. There is a great deal at stake this election season, so you’ll likely be thanked for sharing this registering and voting information.
