Georgia Runoff Election Fact Sheet

GA Runoff Factsheet Graphic

Georgia holds a runoff election when no candidate in a race receives more than 50% of the vote.  There are 7 races in the upcoming runoff following the General Election - two U.S. Senate seats and 5 local offices will be decided.

If you are a Georgia voter, we hope that you’ll exercise your voting right on January 5th.  If you didn’t vote in the 2020 General Election, you are still eligible to vote in the runoff and you may register through December 7th.

If you turn 18 by January 5th, you can register and vote in the runoff as well. Now is the time to request your absentee ballot and make your voting plan!
