The Key to Powerful Voting Apps: Good, Curated Election Data

NEW! Civic Data API and Hosted Systems Website Goes Live

US Vote’s new Civic Data and Hosted Systems Products and Services website welcomes civic tech developers, voter outreach organizations, and elections specialists to review and request API access to the data sets and systems that US Vote offers.

The US Vote data sets include Election Dates and Deadlines, State Voting Requirements, Local Election Official Contact data, and Voting Methods and Options. The new site also presents US Vote’s custom Hosted Systems Solutions, most widely used for overseas voter outreach.

“What I love most about licensing this data is that it brings interesting and inspired, young developers our way. Supporting new developers to get into the market and underpinning innovation in civic tech – that’s what it’s about. They want to make a difference and are looking at how they can use data and apps to affect civic engagement. It's really exciting,” commented Susan Dzieduszycka-Suinat, President and CEO, US Vote.

US Vote qualifies every licensee to confirm that their purpose aligns with US Vote’s mission: Every Citizen is a Voter. A new developer starter package is also being offered. Qualified developers are supported directly by US Vote.

“This new civic data site will streamline the systems, data and API requests we receive to exponentially expand our reach to US citizens at home and abroad. We are expecting 2018 to be a very big year. Providing developers with relevant, accurate data is how US Vote can affect voter engagement in the broadest possible way,” said Josh Greenbaum, Chief Technology Officer, US Vote.
