U.S. Vote Foundation Rises to the Knight News Challenge

U.S. Vote Foundation has submitted five dynamic and innovative proposals to the Knight Foundation ‘Knight News Challenge’. All the proposals are designed to better inform voters and increase civic participation. Here are descriptions of our proposals:

  • GOVERN will be the first in our series of ‘Civic Education Through Entertainment’ (CETE) game series. GOVERN will be a real-time based interactive game with multiple gameplay roles that gives players a chance to live out the competitive political world. GOVERN modernizes the delivery of youth civic education through entertainment using the science of gamification to engage, retain and educate about how government functions.

  • Collaborative Online Voter Registration Data Transfer Project aims to streamline the online voter registration process between civic engagement organizations and states through live data sharing. Currently, the online tools these organizations use do not transfer voter registration data directly to state OVR systems. By transferring OVR data between these entities, voter registration applications will be processed more efficiently.
